Position Available: Mobile Product Manager,  Star Media Group Digital

You’re exactly who we’re looking for if:

  • You are a Product Manager with a passion for building mobile web products, strong aptitude for problem solving, keen analytical sense, and proven ability to get things done.

Reporting to the Vice President, Digital, Star Media Group, you will be successful if you can develop and execute a visionary and value creating mobile product strategy that leverages our company’s strong, unique brands and our industry leading competencies.
THE JOB IN A NUTSHELL:

  • Own, develop and maintain the mobile product strategy and roadmap
  • Ensure that products exceed competitive offerings in meeting the needs of advertisers and audiences
  • Work collaboratively with partners in Editorial, Sales, Technology and Marketing to deliver best in class product and meet financial goals
  • Drive product development process with key stakeholders, leveraging strategic insights from core and potential customer groups
  • Own metrics/analytics and share understanding of how consumers are engaging with different mobile products and features
  • Conduct constant product and competitive analysis and continually innovate to ensure that products are relevant, valuable and leaders in their categories

ABOUT YOU:

  • You are on top of the emerging trends in consumer mobile technology and usage, and you have some experience in the Canadian and North American mobile space
  • You are a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for creating fun, compelling and addictive user experiences
  • You function well in a fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for performance is set high
  • You are excited about juggling multiple parallel projects, leading a cross-functional team and you are not afraid to get your hands dirty and do whatever is necessary to get the job done
  • You have at least 3 years proven experience in consumer focused product management and have worked on some really awesome web sites or mobile applications
  • You’ve spent at least 1 year focused on the mobile space and you are familiar with current mobile application design guidelines, best practices and capabilities
  • You really know how to get your point across in a compelling way and you can build relationships with all levels within an organization;
  • User interface design/mock up experience a must.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business (MBA an asset)

Senior Manager, Digital Media Research and Analytics – Toronto

Senior Manager, Digital Media Research and Analytics – Toronto

Rogers Digital Media is looking for an experienced professional to lead and develop the strategic direction of digital media research and analytics initiatives focusing on sales, product and syndication support, as well as defining analytics and custom research needs.

Reporting directly to the Director, Business Development and Marketing, the Senior Manager, Digital Media Research and Analytics will work closely with the entire Digital Media line of business, including product and sales leadership, to develop and build processes for analyzing web, mobile and other digital data sources to drive core insights and suggest solutions that drive fundamental improvements to customer experience and revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize analytics tools including Omniture, Google Analytics, and Comscore
  • Implement the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports that assess Rogers Digital Media and competitors’ product performance (web and mobile)
  • Support marketing in preparation of sales and marketing collateral
  • Monitor the industry for key trends, initiatives, competitive dynamics, market estimates and emerging technologies
  • Represent Rogers Digital Media on industry panels and working groups
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to assist with data collection and reporting, including user experience and product design
  • Exhibit a high level of expertise in driving the data strategy across multiple “listening posts” (websites, surveys, testing, CRM systems, market research etc)

Typical Deliverables:

  • Weekly, monthly reports and management dashboards (excel reports, clickstream analytics, etc)
  • Supporting and validating sales materials
  • Website behavior and customer experience analysis
  • Data consolidation and validation of configuration on web and mobile
  • Documentation relating to existing processes and suggestion / presentations for improving those processes

Qualifications

  • A University or College degree in technology and business is required
  • At least three to four years of working with standard digital analysis tools: Omniture, WebTrends, Comscore etc.
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Two years of experience in advanced web analytics methodologies such as experimentation and testing, competitive analysis, surveys and market research
  • An understanding of the media industry, including Television, Radio and Publishing
  • Three to five years of experience in using the Microsoft Office suite with very strong Excel skills
  • Three to five years of business analysis experience in large size companies with multiple functions / business units preferred
  • Mid-level expertise in the SEM (Search Engine Marketing) / PPC (Pay Per Click) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
  • Exposure to project management skills, business process redesign principles, tools and techniques a plus
  • Superior communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization

The successful candidate must have 2 or more years of full time work experience and be able to demonstrate a strong portfolio of work. A web related College Diploma is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

* Primary responsibility for various B2B and B2C websites.
* Keep content up to date and continually improve navigation and site features.
* Use database driven content to build, maintain and enhance sites using a shared content environment.
* Develop a new web based training program for company sales associates and customers.
* Build and maintain a multitude of customer web sites hosted on company’s main consumer site.
* Manage MySQL server running all company sites.

Technical Requirements:
