SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Plans, develops and delivers field unit public relations and communications activities and services to engage the public, partners and stakeholders in the understanding, appreciation and support of the natural and cultural heritage places managed by Parks Canada.

SCREENING CRITERIA:
Applicants will be screened against the following criteria and must clearly indicate they meet those established criteria.

EDUCATION: Graduation with a degree from a recognized college or university with specialization in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or other discipline relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE IN:

  • Providing strategic and operational communications and media relations advice to management;
  • Researching, analyzing, developing and delivering strategies and plans related to communication and media relations;
  • Dealing with the media;
  • Planning and organizing special events such as news conferences and media briefings;
  • Writing and editing communications products such as news releases, media lines and analytical background material;
  • Supervising staff.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance;
  • Maintenance of a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence;
  • Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform;
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorialholidays.

We are looking for a public relations manager to work in our Toronto head office.

Description:
Bullfrog Power’s public relations manager will help Bullfrog Power build and expand its brand by creating opportunities for earned media coverage in print, broadcast and electronic media. The successful candidate holds a university degree and a diploma in communications or public relations and has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in media relations in a corporate setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, superior communication skills (both written and verbal), and will have a high level of attention to detail. Established media relationships with Canadian dailies are assets.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Participating in the development and execution of media relations strategy for Bullfrog Power and its business and residential divisions
  • Manage PR agency resources and act as the primary liaison between the company and the agency
  • Work with Bullfrog executives and PR agency to develop innovative stories that attract media attention for Bullfrog Power and its commercial customers.
  • Liaise with regional staff to ensure comprehensive PR support for Bullfrog across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Maritimes
  • Manage reactive media relations for Bullfrog Power, responding to media inquiries and creating media briefings and arranging interviews for Bullfrog spokespeople as necessary.
  • Implement ongoing media training for key spokespeople
  • Work with agency to maintain an editorial calendar and identify opportunities for publicity in a variety of media outlets, including major print and broadcast media, niche and trade publications, and electronic/social media.
  • Work with agency to develop comprehensive media lists and develop positive relationships with key journalists and publications.
  • Write a range of communications deliverables including press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, etc.
  • Oversee tracking and reporting for all media coverage.
  • Generate publicity for special events, trade shows, contests and other activities.
  • Plan and execute media events.

Special Events and Fundraising Manager

As Special Events and Fundraising Manager, you play an integral role in meeting fundraising goals and objectives through community and signature March of Dimes events. As an outgoing, results-oriented and creative professional, you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and diverse environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and monitor fundraising strategies that help March of Dimes Canada achieve its fundraising goals and objectives
  • Develop, sustain and recognize corporate sponsors, including direct solicitations.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience with an emphasis on fundraising, special events and volunteer management
  • Non-profit experience with a proven fundraising record; responsible for dollars raised
  • Experience working with and managing budgets for events
  • Experience working with, recruiting and managing volunteers and volunteer committees
  • Results oriented, proven ability to attract new audiences
  • Experience negotiating corporate sponsorships, direct solicitations, and networking with business leaders
  • Proposal writing and presentation experience for sponsorship support
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, experience with databases preferred

Associate Marketing and Promotions Manager – Toronto

Position Summary:
In conjunction with the Marketing and Promotions Manager, the Associate Marketing and Promotions Manager is responsible for developing, managing and executing promotions at all 22 gaming sites in line with the defined annual marketing plan. The position will assist the Marketing and Promotions Manager in day to day implementation, coordination and management of promotion programs and evaluations. The position is responsible for successful implementation of marketing programs based on established objectives.

Major Responsibility Areas:

  • Develop, manage and launch province wide promotions on budget and within specified timelines, working closely with internal/external resources to ensure success of promotion.
  • Manage the internal promotions process i.e. prepare promotional briefings and communications, IT requirements, determine promotion mechanics, project schedules, budgets, POS, use of external and internal resources, site training, etc.
  • Key point of contact for internal customers, legal, responsible gaming, PA, IT, audit, security, corporate communications, procurement, corporate events, AGCO, etc.
  • Manage external resources / partners including advertising and promotions agencies, RFQs, RFPs, partnership programs and events while ensuring they comply with all legal, audit and security procedures.
  • Manages Operations Team to ensure feedback on province wide promotions from all gaming sites.
  • Develop promotional policies and procedures for implementation at gaming sites as required.
  • Accountable for managing the AGCO submission process ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist the Marketing and Promotions Manager, as required, in the review and strategic development of corporate marketing promotions, scheduling, work backs, briefings, evaluations, program recommendations, POVs on opportunities presented while ensuring that timelines and program requirements are met.
  • Assist the Marketing and Promotions Manager, as required, in the development of project plans / business cases to support new initiatives proposed for implementation.
  • Assists the Marketing and Promotions Manager in the preparation of promotion forecasts including the preparation, completion and monitoring of promotional expenditures versus budget.
  • Coordinate with internal research resources to develop and conduct market research for prizing and promotional concepts and mechanics.
  • In conjunction with the Analytical Centre of Excellence (ACE) team, initiate, monitor, analyse and review promotional programs, and provide recommendations to the Marketing and Promotions Manager on evaluation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of AGCO regulations, site structures and responsibilities, promotional impact on the gaming business.
  • Assists the Field Marketing Managers as required with local initiatives.
  • Lead and / or participate in Marketing and Promotions projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum education level of a Business degree with a concentration in marketing or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience within marketing management in consumer promotions, service or gaming industry.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registration:
Requires an AGCO Gaming Key Registration.
