The Art Gallery of Ontario, already home to one of the most diverse art collections in North America, will be opening the innovative new Weston Family Learning Centre in 2011. Coordinator, Special Events & Individual Giving
Regular Full-Time, 35 hours per week
The Art Gallery of Ontario is looking for a Coordinator, Special Events & Individual Giving to work in our Development Division. This position will be responsible for coordinating and administering fundraising events while also providing administrative support for the AGO Next membership program. This will involve: drafting correspondence; processing and tracking payments; preparing invoices and tracking expenses; maintaining records of prospects, proposals, guest lists, event participants, sponsors, members and in-kind donors in the Development database and in hard copy files; preparing reports and/or analyzing data from the Development database; updating website content and sending electronic communications; and, coordinating committee activities and liaising with volunteers and other staff for event coordination and implementation.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate has at least 2 years directly related experience in a Development environment to interface with senior corporate personnel, AGO staff, trustees, donors and volunteers in special events fundraising.
This person will also be able to demonstrate their working knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer and using donor databases such as Sage/Raiser’s Edge.
He or she will also have well-developed administrative, analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills along with an understanding and commitment to client service.
The ability to coordinate a variety of simultaneous projects with accuracy and close attention to detail is a must.

This position will also require Word processing, presentation, electronic calendaring and messaging skills and a working knowledge of the Gallery structure and department roles.
