The Citizen invites applications for a Copy Editor/Paginator position for our night and day news desk.
Major responsibilities include editing news and feature copy, paginating pages in the A-section, City, Sports and Business, slotting and proofing pages, and writing headlines and cutlines. All of these tasks must be accomplished to tight daily deadlines.
Qualifications include a firm grasp of grammar, spelling and newspaper style. Previous copy editing, paginating and journalism experience, and training and fluency in Quark Xpress, are essential. This job will begin in July and will continue until approximately December 31, 2010.
In order to be considered for the position, resumes must be received by the Human Resources Department, quoting job # 10-020 by 4:00 p.m. Friday July 9, 2010.
