Head of Sales – Toronto

talent_eggTalentEgg is an up-and-coming online publisher of career-related content for 18-24 year olds in Canada. With one full school-year under our belts, and considerable success working with top Canadian brands such as Molson, Kraft, and KPMG, we are looking for someone to come on board and take the reins of our sales efforts. How we Measure Success:

Through our experience over the past year, we know that our product is valuable to employers and advertisers. Your job will be to create sales efficiency through strategy, building an effective team, and executing on ambitious revenue goals yourself. Ultimately, success in this role will be measured by client acquisition and revenue growth.

The Role & our Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a natural leader with a proven track record of success. This success doesn’t necessarily have to be in a Head of Sales role, but you’ll have to show how experiences you’ve had in the past indicate that you’ll be absolutely fantastic in this role.

This is a leadership role and our expectations are high. You will be expected to exemplify best practices in your role, and to take on a leadership role in everything related to sales. Needless to say, this is not a 9-5 job.

You should have a ‘grab the bull by the horns’ attitude, and be ready to hit the ground running, taking on sales from a broad level and putting in place strategy across 3 different business lines.

On a macro level, this will involve creating, managing and executing on your own sales strategy, including general strategy, new products, building an effective sales team, and more. On a micro level, you should be prepared to set and manage goals for your team, and inspire them to not only meet but exceed those goals through various activities, including setting a fantastic example yourself.

Speaking of leading by example, you should love cold calling and the entire sales process, and you should be the type of person who can set fantastic examples in terms of attitude as well as actual results.

You will work and manage your team independently. However, while your focus will be on leading our sales efforts, you won’t be working in a silo – we expect that you’ll work with the delivery/editorial team to maximize the value of our products, in turn building revenue opportunities for your team.

Finally, you’ll need to be a quick learner in order to get up to speed with our 3 business lines, and you should be smart enough to quickly adapt positioning and pitch for different situations, and as our business grows as a result of your activities.
