Manager, Public Relations – Mississauga


PURPOSE:
Provide professional direction and administration to showcase and enhance the image of the company’s products and brand to both external and internal audiences (e.g. national & trade media communications, internal communications, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage product media launch plans.
  • Develop and manage media events. (Ride & drives, media dinners, journalism awards, etc.)
  • Responsible for budgeting and monitoring/control of expenses for PR cost centre.
  • Manage the national press fleet including budget, vehicle order/turn-in, maintenance, and scheduling to promote vehicles with appropriate media.
  • Plan, develop, and execute the monthly dealer newsletter as well as other internal publications as required.
  • Responsible for media website look and content with assistance of vendor.
  • Coordinate French translation of content.
  • Plan and manage MMSCAN presence and activities at auto shows.
  • Develop and publish news releases.
  • Monitor Mitsubishi Motors press coverage and publish summaries for Management.
  • Write speech content for Company Management as required.
  • Coordinate with other Mitsubishi press offices (US, Japan, etc.) to ensure consistent messaging for the brand.
  • Coordinate with MMSCAN internal departments to meet overall company needs.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
  • TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PROFILE:
  • 3 – 5 years prior management level automotive experience in Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PROFILE DIFFERENTIATORS:

  • Knowledge of current automotive publications and key press contacts.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, MMSCAN product line and product features.

SPECIAL:

  • Valid driver’s license and MMSCAN approved driving record.
  • Domestic travel will be required.
