Job Description:

The Toronto Children’s Chorus seeks an outstanding communications professional to lead, plan, and implement TCC communications activities.
This is a part-time position (.5 FTE) that also requires occasional evening and weekend work.

Position Details:
Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the administrative and artistic teams, the Marketing and Communications Officer will work in two areas of responsibility:

Revenue Proposal Writing:
Act as project manager on funding applications, contributing extensively to proposals and coordinating additional components from other team members as required
Research funding opportunities and recommend priorities and strategies
Liaise with key funding contacts within granting agencies and foundations and maintain these important relationships, in coordination with Managing Director and Development Officer

Marketing and Communications:
Plan and implement the annual TCC marketing and communications plan
Write, edit and produce all written materials, including press releases, concert programs and inserts, articles, advertising and concert listings, and newsletters
Update the TCC website, making changes in-house and coordinating with website consultants when necessary
Coordinate the development of marketing materials, including the annual season brochure and recruitment brochure
Support the implementation of the annual Development Plan through written materials, including proposals and reports
Represent the TCC at concerts and events, and assist with front-of-house activities

Specifically, the Marketing and Communications Officer will demonstrate:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong computer skills using a variety of programs including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies including social media, particularly within an education or arts environment
Experience with website development
Strong ability to articulate and execute a successful marketing plan
Proven track record of timely and successful grant writing
